Final Quiet is Asher Levitas' follow up to Lit Harness, released on Planet Mu in 2016. The ambient collection was originally conceived as a tape for Asher's sister to fall asleep to, with music entering her dreams and her dreams eventually creeping back into the music. The project began with Asher recording and sampling largely non-vocalist friends to create a choir instrument with an untamed and shifting voice. The record, however developed into its existing form months later as a collaborative effort; multi instrumentalist Knut Jonas Sellevold's (King Knut, Daniel O'Sullivan, UV) influence is heard throughout the record via arrangement and improvised layered piano, pushing the record from its restful beginnings into something far more urgent and disquieting. Finally, additional vocals and guitar were recorded by Astrud Steehouder (Paper Dollhouse).
Tearing apart and reforming the record ultimately created a sonic collage which is reflected in the album artwork (which features the piece "A Few Harmonic Collisions in the Waiting Room") by Oliver Lunn.
Since his solo debut Asher has been busy working on a number of projects, including featuring on LTO's Déjà Rêvé on Denovali, producing and touring Paper Dollhouse's The Sky Looks Different Here and starting his own label Beyond The Valley, which began as a limited run cassette series in early 2019.
